Maverick was the tiniest of two lambs born to a mother that unfortunately rejected him. As a newborn, he would need round-the-clock care and the search for a sanctuary led him right into the loving arms of Foreverland Farm.
It's with great sadness to share that Maverick passed away in late Spring of 2021. We will always be grateful for the time we had with him.
It breaks my heart reading about little Maverick being rejected by his mother right as a newborn, but it's comforting to know he found a safe haven at Foreverland Farm for the time he had. Managing sanctuary resources and round-the-clock newborn care must take an unbelievable amount of organisation and planning. I was recently reading up on how to write a business plan in Australia, and it really made me appreciate just how much backend strategy goes into running non-profit sanctuaries sustainably. It’s definitely no small feat balancing emergency medical care with daily operations. Thank you for giving Maverick so much love during his short life—he clearly left a lasting footprint on everyone’s hearts.
