LC's Story

Updated: Jul 26

LC came to Foreverland in October 2023. When she first got here she was in pretty rough shape. She was so emaciated there was little to no personality. She was sweet and calm but something that’s what happens when horses are too tired to fight anymore or have just been so beaten down. It was really sad. LC really thrived here. She gained a ton of weight! Over 70 pounds (she’s a very small horse so this is good) and with the weight gain it gave her more energy and she felt good and I dare to say safe enough to let her goofy personality out. She broughts smiles to all our faces every day. Even when we forgot and leave hay out and she absolutely destroyed the barn, or when she would go into every single stall we are trying to clean, or when she walked around every horse trying to get their feet trimmed. She was so funny and curious.

If you had the pleasure of coming for a visit she would be the first animal you’d meet, as she had free roam of the sanctuary. She was free to do whatever she wanted.

She came to us a broken down, emaciated shell of a horse. She slowly gained weight and her confidence back. She blossomed into the funniest and sassiest horse I’ve ever met. In the end the doctors found she had late stage lymphoma and there was nothing left to do but the ultimate sacrifice of care as can give. She is the best of us. LC was a testament to the love and dedication every single person here at FLF has for the animals.
